Origin and Mission

Uniqual Quality Evaluation and Accreditation Agency of the Basque University System, has been created under the Basque University System Act 3/2004, 25th February. The statutes of Uniqual have been approved by Decree 138/2006, 27th of June.

Uniqual, which has been constituted by law as a public entity that operates under private law is adjunct to the Department of Education, Universities and Research of the Basque Government, has as its mission to ensure the continuous improvement in the quality of the Basque University System so that it becomes a benchmark within the European Higher Education Area.
